Aurora LNG community open house in Prince Rupert, British Columbia.

Aurora LNG aspires to establish and build long-term, respectful and mutually beneficial relationships with Aboriginal, local communities and other stakeholders. Our consultation approach has four stages:

  • Early engagement; occurred from project inception to the filing of the original Project Description on June 27, 2014 with the BC Environmental Assessment Office (EAO) and the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency.
  • Pre-application consultation; occurred from project description filing, through to the formal acceptance of the Application by the EAO on December 14, 2016.
  • Application review consultation; our current phase. Occurs from formal acceptance of the Application by the EAO to receipt of the Minister’s decision on the issuance of the Environmental Assessment Certificate.
  • Ongoing engagement: the period covering the life-cycle of the Aurora LNG project.

We are committed to being a vibrant member of communities through all phases of our activities, including planning, development and operations. We believe that early engagement sets the stage for positive, long-term relationships.
